Enviromental Policy Statement
Environmental Policy Statement
Introduction & Scope
Regency Autos LTD operates a full-service automotive maintenance and repair garage. We recognize that our daily operations ranging from vehicle servicing to parts cleaning have an inherent impact on the environment. We are fully committed to reducing our environmental footprint, preventing pollution, and continually improving our environmental performance.
This policy applies to all directors, workshop technicians, service advisors, and third-party contractors operating on our premises.
Core Commitments
At Regency Autos LTD, we pledge to:
- Comply with Legislation: Meet or exceed all local and
national environmental laws, including regulations regarding hazardous
waste disposal, health and safety, and emissions. - Prevent Pollution: Ensure zero chemical or oil
containment failures that could result in ground or water pollution. - Minimize Waste: Reduce, reuse, and recycle
materials wherever operationally possible. - Train Our Team: Ensure every technician is
trained in safe chemical handling, spill response, and waste segregation.
Specific Operational Controls
A. Hazardous Waste & Fluid Management
Automotive fluids pose the highest risk to our local environment. We enforce strict
protocols to ensure zero spillages:
- Fluid Segregation: Used engine oil, brake fluid,
antifreeze (glycol), and fuel are drained into designated, clearly
labelled, double-walled containers. Fluids must never be mixed. - Zero Drain Disposal: Absolutely no oil, chemicals,
or contaminated wash-water may be poured down workshop drains, sinks, or
surface water gullies. - Licensed Disposal: All hazardous waste is
collected and processed exclusively by registered, licensed environmental
waste carriers. Consignment notes will be kept on file for a minimum of
three years.
B. Parts,Batteries, & Tyres
- Lead-Acid & EV Batteries: Spent batteries are stored in
dedicated, acid-resistant, leak-proof bins before being collected for
specialist recycling. - Tyre Disposal: All end-of-life tyres are
collected by certified contractors who shred and repurpose the rubber for
asphalt, playground surfacing, or energy recovery. - Scrap Metal: Old exhaust systems, brake
discs, and body panels are segregated into scrap metal skips to ensure
100% recycling.
C. Air Quality & VOCs
- Volatile Organic Compounds
(VOCs):
Solvent-based parts washers are kept sealed when not in use. We actively
prioritize the transition to biodegradable, water-based chemical cleaners. - Vehicle Emissions: Workshop extraction systems
must be utilized during all stationary engine testing to protect indoor
air quality. Engines must not be left idling unnecessarily.
D. EV Expertise, Infrastructure & Resource Efficiency
- Electric & Hybrid Vehicle
Support: We
maintain, repair, and service electric and hybrid vehicles. Our workshop
is equipped with the specialist tools and training required to safely
handle high-voltage systems, supporting our customers in transitioning to
lower-emission transport. - EV Infrastructure: To further support the
transition to zero-emission driving, we provide an on-site Electric
Vehicle (EV) charging point for company, staff, and customer use. - Energy Conservation: Energy-efficient LED lighting
is utilized across the workshop and office bays. Compressed air systems—a
major energy drain—are checked weekly for leaks. - Spill Preparedness: Fully stocked spill kits
(containing absorbent mats, granules, and booms) are stationed at
high-risk areas. Any minor spill must be contained and cleaned immediately
using dry methods.
Continuous Monitoring & Review
This policy is a living document. Management will review our waste logs, energy usage, and
compliance records annually to set new targets for reducing our environmental
impact.
