Car servicing in Cambridge
Monday 15th of October 2018
Whilst an mot is mandatory, getting your car serviced is not; however, getting your car serviced is essential to keeping your car running well and helps you avoid running up big bills by fixing things that are worn out before they brake.
There are a few different options when it comes to servicing your car. You could have an interim service which checks the condition of your tyres, wheels, brakes, exhaust, steering, suspension, gearbox, clutch and replaces the oil and oil filter.
It is recommended that you get your car serviced in this way every 6 months or 6,000 miles (which ever comes first). This is highly recommended for vehicles doing high mileage eg. 2000 miles per month or more.
Alternatively you could have a full service which includes: everything on the interim service plus checks on the vehicle’s radiator, coolant, fan belt, windscreen, seatbelts and the operation of all door locks. A full service should be carried out every 12 months or 12,000 miles (again which ever comes first).
Each vehicle’s log book recommends when to book a service but some vehicles have on board computers which also indicate when it is time to get the vehicle serviced. Servicing can help to prolong the life of your car, save money on fuel, and it can help maximise the car’s value.
At Regency Autos we have a team of dedicated mechanics who would be happy to advise you about your servicing requirements and complete all the necessary work so why not give us a call and we can book your vehicle in for its next service.
